Qantas Green Lounge at Opposite House

Qantas is famous for their first class lounges that feature green walls.
For Beijing Design Week 2017 we were asked to create a "Green Lounge" at the Opposite House hotel in Beijing.
The original green lounge was launched in Sydney and Melbourne Airports and featured interiors by Marc Newson (with green wall technology by Patrick Blanc). These feature a hexagon motif which the client was keen to echo. We choose to incorporate this in the use of the hexagon farmers' hats, hexagonal apertures and printed timber stools and gobo light projection.
The frames are curved water jet cut steel panels.
The green wall elements fitted into the Opposite House main door with millimetres to spare.
After three weeks in situ, I am pleased to say that the green walls were adopted by the Australian Embassy in Beijing where they currently reside in the swimming pool lounge area.
